The things on this site that exist as artifacts rather than as pages: papers, patents, code, and photographs.

4.1 Papers

The arXiv links are the preprints, which are the versions that are actually free to read. Where a paper exists only behind a publisher, the link goes to the index rather than pretending otherwise.

4.2 Patents

  • US9032635 — Physiological measurement device 2015
  • US8801569 — Flexure-based torque sensor in a bicycle 2014
  • USD596084 — Motorcycle 2009

Full text and figures for each are on Google Patents; the whole list is here.

US8801569 is the torque sensor behind the Copenhagen Wheel — a radial flexure disc measuring rider input so the motor assists in proportion instead of overpowering the pedalling.

4.3 Code

The rest is on GitHub. Some of what is there is forked from other people’s work and is not mine — the four above are.

arthur-tex-style is the one most likely to be useful to someone else: a Tufte-style LaTeX class with margin notes, margin figures, margin citations and margin equation numbers, under MIT.

4.4 Photographs

The festival and ceremony work was shot in a volunteer capacity for WikiPortraits, whose purpose is getting freely licensed portraits onto Wikipedia — so those photographs are on Wikimedia Commons under a Creative Commons licence, and can be reused under its terms.

The copies in the gallery here are the same photographs at web size. The full-resolution original of any of them is linked beneath it in the lightbox.

4.5 Résumé

Not here yet

Being rewritten. In the meantime the About section covers the same history, and 2.2 covers how I work.

It will be typeset with the same class as the papers, so it looks like the rest of the work rather than like a form.
